torso murder inquiry

Detectives investigating the
murder of a young boy whose torso was
found floating in the River Thames
today arrested a gang suspected of
bringing children into the UK
illegally.
In a dramatic early morning
operation, more than 200 officers
raided nine addresses in east and
south-east London.
Thirteen people were arrested on
suspicion of immigration and people
trafficking offences.
Police believe the 19, who are all
Nigerian nationals, are involved in
bringing children and adults from
west Africa to the UK via Europe -
the route they suspect was followed
by the murder victim discovered by
Tower Bridge in September 2001.
Named Adam by detectives, the
unknown boy, who was between four and
seven, had been mutilated in what
police believe was a ritualistic
sacrifice, possibly by the African
black magic "muti" cult.
A team of 12 police in riot gear
stormed a pebble-dashed Victorian
end-of-terrace in Devonshire Close,
Stratford, east London, at exactly
6.30am.
They used a mini battering ram to
smash open the front door of the
bay-fronted property before detaining
three occupants - two men and a
woman.
An internal door was also knocked
down in the raid.
Officers then searched the house
and two were seen examining a junk
pile in the back yard.
Commander Andy Baker, of Scotland
Yard, said everyone arrested in
today's operation would be DNA tested
to see if there was any family link
with Adam, whose torso measured just
18 inches by 8 inches and was
discovered naked apart from a pair of
orange shorts which could only be
bought in Woolworths stores in
Germany.
Mr Baker said children brought
into the UK on false documents are
often used to carry out an elaborate
benefit fraud or even as
"slave" labour.
A small number may end up in the
sex industry, he added.
Detective Inspector Will O'Reilly,
leading the Adam inquiry, said
outside the Devonshire Close address
this morning: "This is the
trafficking side of the Adam
investigation and it is significant
and important to that inquiry as a
whole.
"We've uncovered what we
believe is a criminal network
concentrating on people trafficking,
particularly from mainland Africa
through Europe to the UK, the route
we believe was taken by the victim of
this murder.
"We have searched nine
addresses across London looking for
the organisers of this criminal gang.
"We don't know how many
children are involved in this
operation but it's certainly in the
hundreds, if not the thousands,
coming from mainland Africa into the
UK."
Many arrive at airports travelling
alone and escape the attention of the
authorities because they are
travelling on British passports which
are either stolen or forgeries.
Establishment
mouthpiece Jim Cussack finally admits human
sacrifice is real and is happening in todays
world, however, Cussack seems to imply in
this article that its only the
"blacks" (Africans) who are engaged
in this heinous passtime!
He
conveniently omits all of the European
Satanic murder and ritual abuse cases, which
have been published (but not by the Irish
press) in the past 20 years!

Human
sacrifice cult that knows no
boundaries
- APEDESTRIAN
crossing Tower Bridge spotted it:
something that resembled a small
torso dressed in orange shorts,
floating near the north bank of the
Thames, as he walked to work on the
morning of September 21, 2001. It was
indeed a human torso measuring only
about 18 inches by eight inches and
identified by the coroner as that of
a young boy, aged between five and
eight years with dark skin colour.
The child's body had been skillfully
butchered, the legs, arms and head
removed and may have been hung upside
down and drained entirely of blood
before it was dressed in a pair of
orange shorts and placed in the
river. There was nothing to identify
the child and no reports of missing
children in the UK or Europe matched
his physical description.
Further
examination showed that the boy had
been well nourished and had not been
sexually abused. The contents of the
stomach revealed traces of a common
cough medicine and something quite
bizarre. Just before he was murdered,
the child had been fed a potion
containing quartz clay pellets,
ground animal bone and tiny particles
of rough gold. The label on the
orange shorts showed they were sold
exclusively by Woolworths in Germany.
In the absence
of fingerprints and dental records,
Scotland Yard had no means of
identifying the child. DNA technology
was useless because there was nothing
with which to match it, no relatives
to provide body samples as a starting
point for scientists.
The
Metropolitan Police and Coroner's
Court deal with about 45 bodies taken
from the Thames each year but had
never encountered anything like this.
A special investigation unit was set
up under Commander Andy Baker and led
by Detective William O'Reilly - the
senior officer who visited Dublin
this week accompanying gardai during
the arrest of a west African man in
Tallaght.
The unit began
the traditional methodology of a
murder investigation: identifying and
eliminating possible leads;
contacting foreign police forces for
possible links; issuing press
releases in an attempt to elicit
public responses; and initiating
forensic scientific research.
They approached
Professor Ken Pye, a forensic
geologist at Royal Holloway College
whose genetic research techniques can
tell, from trace elements in a human
body, the geographical area where
that person lived. In the case of the
juvenile torso, Professor Pye found
that it came from a small area in
north-west Africa, probably a rural
area near the city of Benin in
south-western Nigeria. The forensic
examination by Professor Pye also
showed that the child had spent only
a brief time in western Europe,
probably only weeks before his
murder.
The Met
officers now had to establish the
identity of the child and a motive
for his murder. Firstly they gave the
dead child a name, Adam. They had to
discover why someone had brought Adam
to London from Africa and then
murdered him in such a careful and
horrific manner.
Quickly, the
theory that Adam was the victim of
what is termed a ritualistic murder
began to feature prominently in the
Met's thinking. The detective unit's
appeal for assistance from the
European police liaison agency,
Europol, in the Hague quickly
produced general supporting evidence
for this theory. Three weeks before
the body in the Thames was
discovered, the naked torso of a
white girl, aged between five and
seven, was found floating near the
Dutch lake resort of Nulde. The girl
had been butchered in exactly the
same way. The Dutch police were also
looking at the possibility of a
ritualistic killing and had contacted
detectives in Hamburg, Germany, where
a similar case had been reported.
While the
police in London began attempting to
trace west Africans who had come into
Britain from Germany, they also
decided to visit South Africa where
the Natal police have an occult
crimes unit which specialises in
investigating human sacrifice by
'Muti' witch doctors.
They visited
the remote Zulu settlement of Eshowe
in KwaZulu, Natal, where locals had
been living in fear after the
dismembered bodies of six villagers
were found. One of the victims was a
nine-year-old boy whose eyes, tongue
and testicles had been removed. What
appeared to be the limbs of five
other children had been scattered in
the scrubland. The locals knew it was
the work of Muti witch doctors.
The
Metropolitan Police enlisted the help
of the South African academic Dr
Hendrik Scholtz, an expert on witch
doctors, Muti black magic and
ritualistic murder. Commenting on the
Adam murder he said: "The nature
of the discovery of the body,
features of the external examination
including the nature of the wounds,
clothing and mechanism of death are
consistent with those of a ritual
homicide as practised in
Africa."
The motive for
the murder was that the human parts
were to be used as sacrifices to Muti
deities in return for these gods
bestowing greater powers on those in
possession of the sacrificed body
parts: the eyes to give the power of
seeing into the future; the arms for
greater strength; the legs for
greater mobility; the penis, a
particular prize, to give greater
virility and fertility. The point of
the sacrifice, Dr Scholtz said was to
"awaken the supernatural force
required to attain that goal".
After meeting
with Dr Scholtz, Commander Baker
confirmed: "We are looking at
the possibility of a ritual murder.
Muti is a taboo subject in the
sub-Sahara, let alone in London, but
there is some suggestion of
ceremonies taking place in the UK and
strong rumours that body parts are
used. They could be brought in or
taken from murdered bodies. Our fear
is, it is the first of many."
In 2001, the
South African government became
sufficiently concerned at the growth
in such murders to set up a
Commission of Inquiry into Witchcraft
Violence and Ritual Murders to
investigate 140 killings that year
alone in remote areas of the northern
province. During their visit to South
Africa, the Metropolitan Police
officers successfully appealed to
Nelson Mandela to broadcast a
statement throughout Africa appealing
for information about Adam and
calling for an end to human
sacrifice.
The first break
in the Adam case came when Scottish
police investigated a Nigerian asylum
seeker who was reported to them after
a claim that she had told a neighbour
she was going to sacrifice her two
young daughters. In January last
year, Strathclyde Police found a
variety of artifacts including
feathers and stones in her house and
two pairs of orange shorts identical
to those put on Adam's remains. She
had been living in Germany before
coming to England in 2001.
She was
detained and DNA tested but there was
no connection between her DNA results
and Adam. With no evidence to connect
her with Adam, Joyce Asaguede was
deported back to Nigeria with her two
daughters but, the Metropolitan
Police say, she is still under
activeinvestigation.
It was through
investigation of Asaguede that led
the Metropolitan detectives to Dublin
to question her former husband,
believed to be named Akpojo Tor
Koulibaly, also known as Sam
Onojhighovie and Sam Kualibaly, who
was arrested at his home in Tallaght
on Thursday.
Koulibaly, 37,
was already sought by German police
after absconding while facing human
trafficking and fraud charges for
which he was sentenced to seven years
imprisonment in 2001. German police
have sought his extradition to serve
the sentence imposed.
It is
understood Koulibaly moved to England
from Germany during early 2001 and
from there moved to Cork and, more
recently, Dublin. A computer found at
his home was seized for analysis at
the request of the Metropolitan
Police. However, there is no evidence
connecting Koulibaly with the murder.
This is the
first investigation ever, involving
gardai, into apparent human
sacrifice, a practice that
disappeared in western Europe in
prehistoric times. Last May, however,
a conference of senior police held by
Europol heard that with greater
globalization and movement of people
from areas where human sacrifice is
practised, it was only a matter of
time before such crimes began to
occur in Europe.
About 10 such
suspected cases are now under
investigation by EU police forces.
With almost no means of tracing the
movement of unknown children brought
into the EU on false passports, it is
feared that many more such murders
may have taken place and that more
willhappen.

branded a "psychopath"
yesterday in a magazine owned by
Chancellor Gordon Brown's closest
political ally.
In what was
being seen by Downing Street as an
open declaration of war, ex-minister
Geoffrey Robinson's New Statesman
dedicated an entire edition to the
Prime Minister's potential demise.
The
onslaught even forced Mr Blair's
official spokesman to deny the
Premier had gone "potty".
The magazine
said: "He is a man who doesn't
really know who he is. More
technically, he is diagnosed as a
psychopath capable of reinventing
himself with remarkable dexterity,
like an actor."
It added:
"What most people call spin -
the routine lubricant of all
political gearboxes - is, in Blair's
case, eloquent self-delusion on a
heroic scale."
The article
quoted psychologist Dr Paul Broks,
who claimed: "Suppose it turns
out that Iraq had no weapons of mass
destruction.
"Suppose
the Prime Minister was indeed party
to the ramping up of what flimsy
evidence there might have been in
order to keep us on a pre-set course
for war.
"Set
this against his affiliative personal
style and the profile that begins to
emerge is that of a plausible
psychopath - charming, intelligent,
emotionally manipulative, ruthlessly
ambitious and self-serving."
The article
added: "Therapists agree that
the ability to disassociate yourself
from the consequences of what you
have done is a classic ingredient of
the psychopathic condition."
For such a
hatchet piece to be published in a
Labour-supporting magazine is a huge
blow for Mr Blair, who is under
attack from all sides in his party.
But
millionaire Mr Robinson, who has
expressed growing frustration at Mr
Blair's apparent unwillingness to
hand over to Mr Brown, did not stop
there.
In another
feature, entitled "What's the
point of Tony Blair?", the
magazine claimed that even the
Premier's most trusted aides were
discussing regime change.
And the New
Statesman's editorial said: "The
PM looks rather dangerous, given to
foolish foreign adventures and silly
schemes.
"Mr
Brown seems to offer safety and
continuity. The reality is that a
Brown government would have a sense
of purpose that the Blair government
lacks."
Incredibly,
Mr Blair's spokesman Tom Kelly
allowed himself to be drawn into the
questions raised over the PM's
sanity.
Asked if Mr
Blair had gone potty, he said:
"The term potty sounds slightly
potty to me. Equally, psychopath is a
very strange term to use."
He added:
"Look at what the Prime Minister
has achieved in the past six months
in terms of handling major
international issues such as Iraq, in
pursuing progress in the Middle East
settlement and in pursuing public
service delivery at home.
"I
think you will see a Prime Minister
who has a very clear sense of
direction."
Home
Secretary David Blunkett also leapt
to the PM's defence last night. He
told Channel 4 News: "The people
we have to worry about most are those
you would describe as being loyal who
stab us in the back. Tony Blair goes
on because Tony Blair is acknowledged
as a world statesman who has
transformed the Labour Party and our
Government."
Coventry MP
Mr Robinson, who resigned after it
emerged he gave ex-minister Peter
Mandelson a £373,000 home loan,
believes Mr Brown's time has now
come.
One senior
Labour MP said: "He is playing
king-maker for Gordon and it is
relentless."

discuss new Garda inspectorate

Cabinet is due to discuss plans to
establish an independent Garda
inspectorate when it meets in Dublin
tomorrow.
Justice Minister Michael McDowell plans
to set up the inspectorate to replace the
current system whereby gardaí
investigate complaints made against their
own colleagues.
Civil rights groups and opposition
politicians have long been calling for
the appointment of a Garda Ombudsman to
investigate complaints against the force,
a move that has been opposed by garda
representative groups.
The inspectorate proposed by Mr McDowell
would not have the same power as an
Ombudsman, but it would be empowered to
establish its own investigations into
garda actions such as the shooting of
John Carthy by the Emergency Response
Unit in April 2001.

other countries.
The sister of missing Kilkenny woman Jo
Jo Dullard is also requesting a National
Day of Remembrance for Irish people who
have disappeared.
Mary Phelan has recently returned from a
fact finding visit to the US, and has
claimed the FBI would support a missing
persons bureau here.
Poor Mary! I believe she still
can't comprehend what has been happening
to missing people in Ireland and
internationally!
I
have no doubt that she has been putting
her trust in "those" who are
working with "those" who are
directly involved in the abduction of
many innocent people in Ireland!

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. - The words began tumbling out
— at first just a few nouns and
eventually a torrent of phrases.
Terry Wallis,
who had been in a coma since a 1984 car
accident, regained consciousness last month
to the surprise of doctors and the delight of
his family, including his mother, who heard
his first word in 19 years.
"He
started out with 'Mom' and surprised her and
then it was 'Pepsi' and then it was 'milk.'
And now it's anything he wants to say,"
Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center social director Alesha Badgley said
Tuesday.
His mother,
Angilee Wallis, called her son's return to
consciousness a miracle: "I couldn't
tell you my first thought, I just fell over
on the floor," she said.
Terry Wallis,
now 39, was riding with a friend in July 1984
when their car left the road and plunged into
a creek. Wallis and his friend were found the
next day underneath a bridge. The friend was
dead and Wallis was comatose.
Wallis'
daughter, Amber, was born shortly before the
accident, and the coma dragged on for almost
two decades. She is now 19 and her dad has
said he wants to walk again, for her. He is a
quadriplegic as a result of the crash.
"It's
been hard dealing with it, it's been hard
realizing the man I married can't be
there," said Wallis' wife, Sandi.
"We all, the whole family, missed out on
his company."
The silence
ended June 12 when Wallis uttered his first
word. He was able to talk a little more a day
later and has improved ever since.
Terry's
father, Jerry Wallis, said his son talks
almost nonstop now, but it seems as though
time stopped for him after the wreck. Terry
still believes Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) is the president.
Terry has
asked to speak to his grandmother, who died
several years ago, and even recited her phone
number — something everyone else in the
family had forgotten.
"You see,
he's still back in 1984," said Jerry
Wallis.
For the Wallis
family, Terry's return to consciousness has
been a blessing.
Perry Wallis,
Terry' brother, said "just to put it
bluntly, it was pure hell to see your brother
laying there, not knowing if you'll ever talk
to him again."
The timing of
the recovery also has raised eyebrows.
"It's
kind of peculiar. He wrecked on Friday the
13th and 19 years later he started talking on
Friday the 13th," Jerry Wallis said.

- Man Gets Life
in Prison for Spitting on cop!

SAPULPA, Okla. - A convicted rapist has
been sentenced to life in prison for
spitting on a police officer.
Creek
County Associate District Judge April
Sellers White followed the
recommendation of a jury for the
maximum sentence against John C.
Marquez under a law that makes it a
felony to place bodily fluids on law
enforcement officers.
White
rejected a prosecution request for a
25-year prison term and a defense
request for a four-year term.
Following
sentencing Monday, Marquez's
attorney, Jason Serner, promised an
appeal to the state Court of Criminal
Appeals. No appeal had been filed by
Thursday.
Marquez,
35, was convicted of hurling body
fluids on Sapulpa Officer Charles
Gadd while Gadd was taking Marquez to
jail following a domestic disturbance
in which a woman's arm was broken.
The
1996 state law that makes it a felony
to place bodily fluids on law
enforcement officers was enacted amid
concerns that deadly diseases, such
as AIDS (news - web sites), could be
transmitted this way.
Gadd
told the jury that Marquez spit on
him despite being warned and then bit
him when Gadd was trying to prevent
Marquez from spitting again.
Gadd
and Marquez tested negative for any
communicable diseases.
The
jury took 15 minutes on May 14 to
recommend the life sentence.
Marquez's prior felony convictions,
including rape and burglary, were
taken into consideration in
determining the sentence.
In
addition to the life term, Marquez
received one year in jail and a
$3,000 fine for his conviction for
domestic assault and a $500 fine for
resisting a peace officer.
Telephone
calls to the judge, the prosecuting
attorney and the defense attorney
were not returned Thursday.

Study: Influenza May Be Next
Bioterror Weapon
LONDON (Reuters) - Forget anthrax and smallpox.
Influenza could easily be turned into the
next weapon of mass destruction, scientists
said on Tuesday.
They sounded
their warning as researchers come close to
completing the blueprint for the virus of the
1918 flu epidemic that killed up to 40
million people globally.
"Taken
together with the fact that influenza virus
is readily accessible and may be causing more
deaths than previously suspected, the
possibility for genetic engineering and
aerosol transmission suggests an enormous
potential for bioterrorism," the
University of Texas scientists said.
Writing in the
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, the
team led by Dr Mohammed Madjid noted that
last century a series of flu epidemics from
Spain to Russia and Hong Kong had killed
millions of people as the virus naturally
mutated.
They pointed
out that sequencing of the genome of the 1918
Spanish flu epidemic was nearly complete,
opening the door to unscrupulous scientists
to build an even more potent virus.
"Recently,
the possibility of synthesizing an infectious
agent solely by following instructions from a
written sequence has moved from theory to
practice," they wrote.
The scientists
also noted that while infection generally
took place through personal contact, the
disease was also easily transmissible through
tiny droplets in the air.
A would-be
bioterrorist needed only to spray an aerosol
containing the weaponized virus inside a
passenger plane to set off a global
infection.
They pointed
out that in contrast to agents such as
smallpox which are carefully guarded, the flu
virus was relatively freely available.
It had the
added advantage that because it occurred
naturally, the beginning of a purposely
started outbreak would not set off alarm
bells, giving the disease a major head start
on the people trying to fight it.
Noting that
its appeal to the bioterrorist also lay in
the fact that it had a short incubation
period and did not succumb to post-exposure
immunization, the scientists set out a list
of demands for urgent action.
There should
be more immunization, they said, laboratory
security should be raised, antiviral drugs
should be stockpiled, there should be closer
monitoring of outbreaks and governments
should consider fitting filters and sensors
to buildings.
